Person is Shot this Morning in Meridian

Update- (1:30 pm 2-28-22) Confirmed a person has been shot in Meridian this morning. A person was standing in a yard in the area of 36th Ave and 18 Street, when shots rang out on 37th ave. The person was struck from the bullet from a block over, he was rushed to a local hospital with a bullet wound to the neck area. Since then the victim has been flown to Jackson, MS for surgery. More information on this story as more details come forward. ______________________________________________________________________ I had several reports of hearing shots on 36th Ave area, possibly two vehicles were shooting at each other. I'm also being told that a person was taken to a local hospital with a gun shot wound. I'm unsure at this time if the two are related. More to follow as this develops this afternoon.
