Lauderdale County Grand Jury Report Calls For More Training For MPD.

The Lauderdale County Grand Jury returned 112 True Bills and returned 15 No True Bills. The Grand Jury reported that the Meridian Police Department should establish a protocol for training all officers and detectives in the collection and preservation of evidence. Training in Courtroom presentation, and more thorough investigations are needed in felony cases with a focus on Domestic Violence Cases. The Grand Jury also suggested The Board of Supervisors start planning for the building of a new detention center.
